APPROXIMATE SOLUTION OF INITIAL-BOUNDARY PARABOLIC PROBLEMS BY BOUNDARY VALUE TECHNIQUES.

Abstract

A simple, fast numerical boundary value technique is developed for classes of initial-boundary value problems for mildly nonlinear parabolic equations. The method is based on finite difference methods, avoids stability problems, and is applied to several interesting equations, including a nonhomogeneous Burgers equation. (Author)
