DETERMINATION OF THE HEATS OF FORMATION OF INDIUM AND GALLIUM PHOSPHIDE BY THE METHOD OF COMBUSTION IN A OXYGEN-BOMB CALORIMETER,

Abstract

The study was made in view of the lack of reliable data on the heats of formation for InP and GaP. High purity phosphides were burned under pressure of oxygen in the calorimeter. The respective heats of formation obtained in a series of combustion experiments are -21.5 plus or minus 1.5 kcal/mol for InP and -29.1 plus or minus 2.5 for GaP.
