ATLAS OF HYDROLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NW PART OF THE BLACK SEA,

Abstract

The atlas consists of 79 charts illustrating the hydrological characteristics (temperature and salinity at surface and bottom, as well as transparency) in the NW part of the Black Sea during the fishing period (from April to October). Also the positions of hydrological fronts are shown in the Dnepr, Dnestr, and Danube estuary areas. The charts showing the surface water temperature indicate the concentrations of schools of fishes which are more or less stable from one year to the other as well as the migration routes of the major commercial fishes. The atlas is designed for use by ichthyologists, hydrobiologists, and hydrologists. (Author)
