MOTION NEAR A PHASE BOUNDARY IN THE PRESENCE OF AN ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD,

Abstract

An approximate mathematical model of a double-layer is given. The general characteristics of its structure are considered. On the basis of this model, equations of fluid motion near the fluid-fluid interface and the fluid-solid body interface are solved. The velocity of relative motion of contacting phases in the presence of electromagnetic field is given. The characteristics of fluid motion under the influence of electrical and magnetic fields near the interface are indicated. The physical nature of the term 'skidding plane' is disclosed and the method of its calculation is presented.
