EROSION-CORROSION OF HAYNES-25 ALLOY: RADIOACTIVE TRACER TECHNIQUES,

Abstract

The erosion-corrosion caused by the washing of a mixture of seawater and ocean-bottom material across a specimen of Haynes-25 at ambient room temperature was studied with radioactive tracer techniques. The results obtained under the conditions of this study showed that the corrosion rate in such an environment increased 4 orders of magnitude over that observed in seawater alone. (Author)
