SEQUIN II: A COMPUTERIZED ITEM SELECTION AND REGRESSION ANALYSIS PROCEDURE.

Abstract

A computer program called SEQUIN II is described. The procedure used in the program to select items from those available in a battery of tests has been characterized. The selections were made so as to develop scores for the tests which could in turn be used to predict a criterion score. The possibilities available for selecting items with other procedures or heuristics were presented. Applications of this technique to military and other testing programs were discussed and the computations for a particular application were illustrated. The use of the program in a computer system is described in detail and a listing of the FORTRAN statements is also given. (Author)
