CYBERNETICS IN THE NAVY,

Abstract

The book acquaints the readers with the general fundamentals of cybernetics and the basic ideas of the application of its methods for military purposes. The reader will become familiar with the military applications of information theory, the principles of the development of algorithms and machine solution of operational-tactical problems, and also the basic methods of operations research. The book also considers questions of the automation of force control and the use of cybernetic methods for instructing and training personnel in the control of weapons, equipment, ships, and ship squadrons. The book is intended for a broad group of naval officers and other members of the armed forces, teachers, students and cadets of military and naval academies, and workers of the shipbuilding industry. It also is of interest to students and teachers of higher educational institutions and to engineers that are working in the various areas of controlling the processes of industrial objects. (Author)
