SIMILARITY OF NONEQUILIBRIUM AIR EXPANSIONS IN HYPERSONIC NOZZLES.

Abstract

The entropy correlation for the nonequilibrium composition of air expanded in a hypersonic wind tunnel nozzle is extended to include the effect of nozzle geometry. A single set of curves based upon a similarity parameter allows the rapid estimation of the test section gas composition and the chemical energy frozen into the flow.
