PROBABILISTIC MODEL FOR ACOUSTIC SOUND RANGING.

Abstract

A probabilistic model for acoustic sound ranging in a nonhomogeneous atmosphere was developed and applied to a six-microphone linear array as used in military applications. Error contour curves are presented which show the system accuracy of six microphones spaced 1350 meters apart in a straight line. (Author)
