INVESTIGATION OF MATERIALS TO RESIST HOT CORROSION IN SMALL GAS TURBINE ENGINE RECUPERATORS.

Abstract

The primary objective of the program was to select two braze alloys for use in brazing the four candidate tube materials into tube-to-header specimens. These specimens are for stress-rupture tests called for in Task D. All candidate tubing ordered during the initial stages of the program was received. Tube-to-header specimens were brazed and prepared for preliminary brazing tests. Brazing characteristics were recorded and are being evaluated by metallography. The 100-hr static hot corrosion test setup was built and the test has begun. (Author)
