The Energy Budget at the Earth's Surface: Assessing Sources and Sinks of Carbon Dioxide in a Corn Crop Using a Momentum Balance Approach

Abstract

A momentum balance was used to estimate the vertical diffusivity of bulk air in a corn canopy. Simultaneous measurements of mean CO2 profiles enabled an evaluation of the source and sink (respiration and photosynthesis) distribution in the corn canopy. From the later data and light distribution data photo-efficiency and light response were evaluated.
