TERNARY PHASE EQUILIBRIA IN TRANSITION METAL-BORON-CARBON-SILICON SYSTEMS. PART 2. TERNARY SYSTEMS. VOLUME 17. CONSTITUTION OF TERNARY TA-MO-C ALLOYS

Abstract

The ternary system tantalum-molybdenum-carbon was investigated by means of X-ray, melting point, DTA, and metallographic techniques on chemically and thermally characterized specimens; a complete phase diagram for temperatures above 1500C was established. The observed phase relationships are thermodynamically analyzed and the calculated temperature sections are found to be in good agreement with the experimental observations.
