SATELLITE DATA REDUCTION PROCESSOR SYSTEM (SADAR),

Abstract

This report describes the analysis, design and programming tasks necessary to develop a data processing and analytical programming system capable of processing information from a broad class of rockets and satellites launched as part of the AFCRL research and development mission. The Satellite Data Reduction Processor System (SADAR) described in this report is a programming system capable of processing recorded data from spacecraft with minimum change from vehicle to vehicle. Presented herein are the concepts required for such a system, and the steps necessary for their implementation into a flexible, efficient programming system. The SADAR system is the result of a detailed analysis of programs presently being utilized for satellite data reduction purposes and a thorough investigation of the design and objectives of future vehicles and their instrumentation packages. SADAR incorporates the best features of the satellite data processing field with new concepts proposed for system flexibility and capability. (Author)
