APPLICATIONS FOR THE MOSSBAUER EFFECT IN CHEMISTRY.

Abstract

A summary is given of a research program which involved (1) efforts to relate observed chemical shifts and quadrupole splits of Mossbauer spectra with the bonding properties of molecules in different directions in space, and (2) use of the effect to investigate the bonding properties of ligands in iron compounds. A list of papers resulting from the work is included.
