UTILIZATION AND EFFECTIVENESS OF PHASE I AND PHASE II FIRE CONTROL TECHNICIAN GRADUATES.

Abstract

A survey was made of 302 Phase I/Phase II graduates, seaman through second class petty officer, assigned to 40 ships in the San Diego/Long Beach area. In general,Phase I graduates are assigned to gun fire control systems as FTG's, and Phase II graduates are assigned to surface missile fire control systems as FTM's. (The new rating of FTB was not included in the sample). Both Phase I and Phase II graduates spend considerable time performing non-rating duties.
