SOME CONSIDERATIONS ON THE STRUCTURE OF SPECIALIZED DIGITAL COMPUTER FOR MACHINE TRANSLATION,

Abstract

A description is given of the structure of the separate units of a specialized electronic digital machine intended for accomplishing 'commercial' machine translations. In particular, there is described the structure of the 'two-dimensional' memory device, which enables one to have recourse both to the lines and the columns of the matrix of ferrite cores, such descriptions extending also to the arithmetical unit and the special operations carried out by it. The question of the structure of the commands is briefly discussed.
