SIMULTANEOUS 8-CHANNEL CATHODE RAY TUBE DISPLAY SYSTEM.

Abstract

The report describes the technical features of an 8-channel Cathode Ray Tube Oscilloscope System. The primary features of this system are the following: (1) Individually, manual and remote voltage-controllable X and Y positioning is provided for each signal; (2) Individually, manual or remote voltage-controllable intensity is provided for each signal; (3) Overall manual X and Y positioning of the 8-signal group is provided; (4) X and Y positional stability within plus or minus 1% for a duration of 8 hours after a 15-minute warmup period is provided; (5) X, Y, and Z channels are dc-coupled throughout; (6) X and Y deflection amplifiers provide nominal 300 V peak-to-peak push-pull output swings symmetrical about ground; (7) X and Y deflection amplifier frequency response is flat from dc to 100 KC within plus or minus db at 85 volts peak-to-peak output and driving into a 500 pf load; (8) Remote (up to 20 feet) CRT driving capability is provided. The primary proposed utilization of the system is for providing the capability of synthesizing a variety of displays as related to cockpit instrumentation for conducting research in the area of simulation and training.
