A FAMILY OF CODES FOR THE CORRECTION OF SUBSTITUTION AND SYNCHRONIZATION ERRORS,

Abstract

The paper presents a family of binary block codes which are decodable in the presence of certain errors. The allowable errors are: for each t = or > 3 consecutive words, either one synchronization error (loss or gain of digit) or one substitution error in each of (t-2) words but not both. (Author)
