DOUBLE SAMPLING FOR DESTRUCTIVE TESTING,

Abstract

Equations by Dodge-Romig for double sampling for non-destructive testing have been modified to be usable for destructive testing. Cumbersome expressions have been replaced by suitable approximations so certain manipulations can be made to facilitate the construction of tables. The Consumer's Risk is set equal to 0.10 and is evenly subdivided between the two samples as in the Dodge-Romig tables. The tables are comprised of sample sizes, acceptance numbers and lot sizes for various combinations of values of p bar, the process average, p sub t, the lot tolerance fraction defective, and the cost ratios.
