CHARGE-CONTROLLED STORAGE DISPLAY PANELS.

Abstract

During the quarter the characteristics and performance of image storage panels were evaluated. Development continued on techniques for production of plastic panels, and several small panels were fabricated. Use of a new yellow EL phosphor on conventional panels resulted in better image display under full room illumination. Tests showed that images could be stored and viewed for an hour. Erasing time and a nonelectrical type of erasure were also studied. A new panel design using a plastic support plate without requiring evaporated conductive layers was developed and evaluated.
