300 MILLIWATT X-BAND TRIODE OSCILLATOR.

Abstract

Thirty-four Y-1613-E' triodes were constructed for life testing and to evaluate the effect of different reducing agents on cathode emission. Six Y-1613-G triodes having nickel base cathodes were built and were found to give higher emission and power output, and to be more stable during early life operation. Results using Philips 'B' dispenser cathodes are reported. RF life test results on six triode cavity oscillators are given. Varactor tuning diodes of three different types were evaluated. The maximum frequency deviation obtained was 15 MHz. (Author)
