ON THE NUMERICAL CLASSIFICATION OF NOMINAL DATA.

Abstract

A method of classification of qualitative data, based on a non-Euclidean metric, is proposed here. A set-theoretic formulation of some taxonomic problems is given. Relations to general problems of numerical taxonomy are discussed. The method is applied to the analysis of anthropoligical data. (Author)
