HIGH FREQUENCY ANTENNA COUPLER.

Abstract

The High Frequency Antenna Coupler is designed to provide impedance matching between high frequency wire antenna or prove antenna and high frequency radio sets aboard the P-3C aircraft. A study was made to increase the tuning range requirements for the probe antenna, to reduce the long tune time at low frequency, and to improve the power handling capability at low frequency. A method of network selection logic was developed which is dependent on the actual antenna impedance and generated during the tuning sequence. The projected weight and the size for the unit is within the specification requirements. (Author)
