DEVELOPMENT OF EXPERIMENTAL STRESS ANALYSIS METHODS TO DETERMINE STRESSES AND STRAINS IN SOLID PROPELLANT GRAINS. STRESSES IN A SPLIT CYLINDER BONDED TO A CASE AND SUBJECTED TO RESTRAINED SHRINKAGE,

Abstract

The paper deals with a three-dimensional photoelastic determination of stresses in a split cylinder bonded to a case. The loading of the model is due to restrained shrinkage. The results obtained will be of interest in designing solid propellant grains. (Author)
