SURFACE WAVE RESONANCE ON CONTINENTAL AND ISLAND SLOPES.

Abstract

Spectra of bounded and unbounded water bodies are calculated on an asymptotic approximation based on smallness of the seabed slopes, which leads to a geometrical optics theory of surface waves. Attention is directed to two-dimensional and cylindrically symmetrical topographies corresponding respectively to laboratory channels and continental slopes and to islands. (Author)
