DEVELOPMENT OF THE HARP BATTERY.

Abstract

The development of a miniature sealed silver-zinc rechargeable battery for high altitude research program is outlined. Details concerning the selection of the successful design concept are presented. The evolution of the battery case design is presented in detail along with the design parameters for the active battery components. The solution of design problems both mechanical and electrical performance is outlined. The report contains operating and charging instructions for the battery, typical performance characteristics and drawings. (Author)
