COSMIC RAY EFFECTS FROM ASSAY OF HELIUM ISOTOPES.

Abstract

Investigation was continued regarding measurements of cross sections of proton induced nuclear reactions, extending irradiations to Fe and Ni stacks and to Bi. A detailed study of the diffusion of the relevant rare gases in metal lattices is discussed. The electron bombardment degassing furnace and mass spectrometry are being improved to cope with the high detection sensitivity required.
