THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF POLYMETHYLACRYLATE AND POLYMETHACRYLIC ACID,

Abstract

Using published specific heat data, the entropy, enthalpy, and Gibbs free energy of polymethylacrylate (PMA) and polymethacrylic acid (PMAA) were calculated over the temperature range 0 to 210K. The encraty, Cp/T vs. T, calculated for both PMA and PMAA, exhibits a maximum at about 70K. Neither of these systems exhibits any transition over the temperature range considered. (Author)
