Application of Reaction Rate Analysis to the Mechanical Properties of Polymers. Part 2

Abstract

Tensile strength data for nylon-6, polypropylene and polysulfone were analyzed according to a modified rate equation. The agreement of the test results with the theory was excellent. It appeared that the polypropylene material used was an impure mixture. With the data now available it would be desirable to determine whether the parameters obtained could be related to molecular structure.
