FURTHER STUDIES OF THE LIFETIMES OF SATELLITES IN LARGE-ECCENTRICITY ORBITS.

Abstract

Lifetime estimates have been made for three satellites in the Molniya series launched since the beginning of 1966, and the decay of Molniya 1B in March 1966 has confirmed our earlier estimate of its lifetime. This report supplements an earlier paper in which the lifetimes of 8 satellites were predicted, and a combined version is to be published in Planetary and Space Science. (Author)
