HAZARDS IN COMBINATIONAL AND SEQUENTIAL SWITCHING CIRCUITS, A SURVEY.

Abstract

The paper is a critical survey of the literature on hazards in combinational and sequential switching circuits. In the major literature on hazards, slight changes in assumptions lead to dramatic changes in results. Because, in many cases, the implications of these assumptions on the network model are not emphasized, apparent contradictions arise. This survey attempts to emphasize the effect of assumptions made by authors. The survey attempts to elucidate omissions and suggest approaches to filling gaps. In particular, multiple order hazards are discussed. (Author)
