ERROR DETECTION CONSIDERATIONS IN NULL RECEPTION SYSTEMS.

Abstract

The use of error detection in conjunction with error correction and erasure fill-in is considered. The residual guaranteed error detection ability when the full guaranteed error correction ability is attempted is determined. The trade-off in the exchange of error correction capability for increased error detection capability is determined. The effect of multiple transmission is also considered. (Author)
