MAGNETIC CHANNEL,

Abstract

Article presents a description and analysis of the magnetic channel used for injection of molecular ions of hydrogen with energy of up to 160 keV into a magnetic field of the 'Ogra' trap with intensity of up to 3500 oersted at an angle of from 0 to 35 degrees to plane perpendicular to axis of trap. Channel consists of a bent iron pipe of rectangular cross section and has compensation and deflection windings. Design of the channel allows heating it in a vacuum chamber to a temperature of 400C.
