WORK OF HIGH-POWER HIGH-FREQUENCY GENERATOR INTO PLASMA LOAD,

Abstract

Experiments conducted on installations with traveling waves showed that the appearance of quasi-stationary current in skin layer of plasma in direction of travel of wave can be a serious obstacle to the production of plasma isolated from the walls of the chamber. Experience further indicates that it becomes necessary to strongly increase the power of hf generators to obtain high frequency magnetic fields which will sufficiently exceed the quasi-stationary magnetic fields. The article describes an experimental installation and its operation and its operation designed to compensate for the effects of the quasi-stationary current. (Author)
