ANALYSIS OF AUTOMOTIVE BRAKE FLUIDS BY GAS-LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY.

Abstract

A gas chromatographic procedure is presented for the identification and determination of volatile components in automotive brake fluids. The investigation includes solvent types, such as alcohols, glycols, glycol-ethers and esters. Base lubricant content is estimated by difference. Retention data for 33 solvents is presented along with determinations using the internal standardization technique. (Author)
