GUIDE MANUAL FOR RELIABILITY MEASUREMENT PROGRAM.

Abstract

The purpose of this manual is to establish a common discipline which will: provide a practical means of measuring system reliability during the research and development phase, provide a uniform reliability measurement which is directly related to reliability requirements, provide uniform reliability appraisals for subsystems which can be combined into meaningful reliability projections for entire systems, and provide a basis for measuring reliability status on incentive contracts. This guide manual was prepared under the direction of the Special Projects Office, United States Navy. The methods presented in this guide manual were developed through actual use by the Re-entry Systems Department of the General Electric Company.
