DIFFUSION CONCENTRATION DISTRIBUTION NEAR AN IDEALIZED CONTACT SPOT,
Abstract
The distribution of the concentration of a diffusing substance near an idealized contact spot is determined analytically for unsteady self-diffusion across only the contact region. The results demonstrate that the influence of the contact spot is restricted to less than ten spot radii in the radial direction and less than four in the axial direction. (Author)
