POSITRON ANNIHILATION IN METALS.

Abstract

A brief summary is presented involving the study metals by the positron annihilation technique. The most significant accomplishment was the demonstration that the positron annihilation technique is capable of yielding information about the band structure of ferromagnetic transition metals. Additional studies demonstrated the effect of ferromagnetic materials on adjacent superconducting films and provided the first information about the behavior of superconductors in the presence of large magnetic exchange fields.
