SCATTERING PATTERNS AND STATISTICS OF A LONG WIRE

Abstract

The backscattering cross section and pattern of wires 2 to 18.5 wavelengths long were theoretically computed and plotted. Assuming a spherically random orientation of the wire, the report presents the average cross sections and probability distributions for various lengths and radii of the wire.
