Abstract

The memorandum presents the definitions of temper designations. It is organized into three parts: (1) temper designation (alphanumeric), (2) temper, by metallurgical term, (3) tempers by base material. This memorandum, in conjunction with Memorandum 232, 'Designations of Alloys for the Aerospace Industry' provide a ready reference for any given combination of alloy and temper designations.
