A Survey of Potential Ceramic Armor Materials

Abstract

A list of materials having potential armor application is presented along with values of density, Young's modulus, and hardness for each material if such data is available. Some ideas for future research and development work in this field are presented to illustrate the directions in which it is believed that future improvements lie in the field of ceramic armor.
