RESEARCH DIRECTED TOWARD THE COLLECTION, REDUCTION AND EVALUATION OF GEOMAGNETIC FIELD DATA.

Abstract

The operation of the Weston Geomagnetic Observatory is described. Brief descriptions are given of the Weston Index of magnetic activity, and of projects on the quiet day variation, telluric current and micropulsation recording. The support of the Air Force program of geomagnetic field measurement by rockets is described. This includes a detailed description of the process whereby taped data from rocket flights is processed. Results of theoretical investigations of geomagnetic field phenomena are cited through resulting publications. (Author)
