RESEARCH INVESTIGATIONS IN SYSTEMS THEORY.
Abstract
This is the final report under Grant AF-AFOSR 499-67 undertaken with the Office of Scientific Research, United States Air Force. Various research topics were studied in the general area of 'system theory.' This is a continuation of research pursued under grants AF-AFOSR 62-321, AF-AFOSR 499-64 and AF-AFOSR 499-65, the previous work being summarized in Final Reports AFOSR 64-1005, AFOSR 64-2176 and AF-AFOSR 499-65. The present grant covered the period from October 1, 1966 to September 30, 1967, the work performed during this period being summarized in this report. The research was concerned with the basic unifying concepts of physical systems. Under study were the common features as well as the fundamental differences of such areas as control theory, communication theory and biological systems. (Author)
