SOVIET-BLOC OCEANOGRAPHIC INSTRUMENTATION,

Abstract

The present compilation of abstracts is the first in a series on Soviet-bloc oceanographic instrumentation. The bulk of the report is devoted to individual instruments and combinations of instruments used in measuring temperature, depth, currents, oxygen, salinity, radioactive contamination, and other properties. This is preceded by some information on the state-of-the-art of oceanographic instrumentation and aspects of platform design exclusive of instrumentation. (Author)
