MATHEMATICAL STUDIES OF NONLINEAR CIRCUITS.

Abstract

In the past year, the research for this contract has been concentrated in the areas of (a) sparse matrix methods (b) methods for integrating stiff systems of differential equations and (c) optimization methods. These three fields are related, being separate subpieces of an effective design optimization algorithm. The main emphasis is efficiency and effective implementation on a computer. It is felt that any general program for numerically solving systems of differential equations will (or should) in the future employ an option for using these methods. Already there is considerable interest from a number of people involved in computer aided network design. (Author)
