METEOROLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE AEROBEE - 350,
Abstract
The report discusses the optimum wind layer thickness to be used for the Aerobee - 350. These layers should be small near the surface (close to the launcher) but can be relatively large at the top of the profile. The need for wind data above 100,000 feet is discussed. Results show that they are needed for the Aerobee - 350. The advisability of firing the Aerobee - 350 with a real-time met system is discussed and the conclusion reached that for best results, such a system should be used. (Author)
