OSCILLATIONS OF AN ELASTIC PLATE IN A FLUID,

Abstract

The two-dimensional problem of an oscillating elastic plate is discussed, the plate being either of a constant or of a variable thickness and in contact with the free surface of the ideal liquid (the case of a submerged plate may be obtained from the above by a duplication of the corresponding coefficient). Only free natural frequencies are considered, and especially the first mode of oscillation. (Author)
