STRAIN EFFECTS IN DILUTE ALLOYS.

Abstract

Impurities in metals give rise to residual resistivity and to electric field gradients. This paper deals with the contribution to these effects by those host ions which are slightly displaced by the impurities. The calculations treat these ions as discrete and give results which are entirely at variance with those of earlier continuum theories. (Author)
