ELECTROSIMULATION OF HEAT EXCHANGE IN HEAT EXCHANGERS OF THE REGENERATIVE TYPE,

Abstract

The report considers a regenerative type heat exchanger of the most simple type. The mathematical problem of heat transfer in such a regenerator reduces to the solution of two partial differential equations. A mathematical method is presented for solution of these equations on an analog computer. Comparisons of the results of this simulation method with analytical solutions are shown in two figures. It is stated that the proposed method can be used also for investigation of heat transfer in a fixed bed of particle material, blown through by a stream of gas, and for investigation of the temperature of the heat transfer medium in countercurrent flow in a regenerator. The method is claimed to be sufficiently accurate for engineering purposes. (Author)
