HEAT EXCHANGE OF BODIES OF DIFFERENT FORM WITH TURBULENT FLOW OF AIR,

Abstract

The article gives the results of an experimental investigation of convective heat transfer between a sphere, a cylinder, a cone, a disc, a slab, and a plate and a stream of turbulent air, including the effect of the orientation of the body in the air stream. The experiments were made under identical thermal and hydrodynamic conditions, at Reynolds numbers from 10,000 to 150,000. The degree of turbulence was 2.4%. The experimental bodies were made of sheet copper 0.0015 meters thick with their dimensions given in a table. The results were correlated by similarity theory. (Author)
